1.) We cannot put our hope in external things/actions. Why is this? Where are other places in Matthew that we've seen Jesus teach this before?

2.) How does one defile himself and what is the source of the defilment? 

3.) Why were the Pharisees offended by Jesus' teachings in this specific occasion?

4.) We shouldnt be suprised when people are offended by the good new of the gospel. However, no one will ever be offended if we arent sharing the gospel to begin with. Do you share the gospel? Do you know the good news well enough to articulate it to the peoples? If not, what are the steps you need to take today in order to build your confidence in the Lord? And if you do know and understand the good news but arent sharing it, why? What is stoppping you?

5.) Why did the diciples ask Jesus to explain what the parables meant?

6.) What is the condition of our heart and soul apart from Christ?

7.) Where do you think our greatest problem lies?

8.) What do you think the greatest need for every person is?

9.) Do you believe that the condition of people apart from Jesus is spirtual crisis that ultimately breeds enternal death and damnation?

10.) What is our ONLY hope in life and death? "That we are not our own but belong, body and soul, both in life and death, to God and to our Savior Jesus Christ."
