MUSIC AT MBC: WHAT TO EXPECT

Word-Centered | God-Focused

We understand that there are a lot of preferences when it comes to music. Some like it loud so they can sing without embarrassment of being heard. Some like it soft so they can hear the voices of the congregants singing in unison. At MBC our focus is NOT on preference but on purpose and focus. We gather on Sunday mornings to set our minds attention (Colossians 3:1-4) and hearts affection (John 4:23-24) on God and His glory (Psalm 96:9). At our church you will not find fancy LED lights or fog machines. Instead you will find that the heart of the music ministry at MBC is the desire to have our music Word-Centered and God-Focused. This does not mean that we don’t strive to be excellent in our musicianship (Psalm 33:3). It does mean, however, that we chose not to abandon the theological substance and focus of our music for a concert and a catchy melody. We want to lift up songs of praise as one voice, children through adults, longing to give God the glory due His name.
