Ephesians 3:20-21

1) We started with an opening statement: Our problems often lie in having too little awe of God. Can you think of ways that thinking too little of God or thinking too highly of something else has led to problems in your life and in our world at large?

2) Are there passages in the Bible that help you think on how glorious God is? Are there passages that call you to have a greater sense of awe in God?

3) In v. 20, the passage goes into a lot of detail explaining all that God can do…why do you think it’s so important to have confidence that God is so much more than able to do all that we can ask or think? What changes when we believe that?

4) At the end of v. 20, Paul says that God’s power is at work within us. Can you think of examples of how you’ve seen God’s power at work among us at MBC?

5) In v. 21, we spent a lot of time talking about glory. How would you define or describe glory?  How do you see Jesus bringing glory to God in the gospels? How can you join the church in the work of bringing glory to God right now?

6) At the end of the message, we finished by talking about prayer and awe. So when it comes to prayer, are there any ways you’ve found helpful in making prayer a priority? Share some of those ways with your group. When it comes to awe, are there areas of your life that compete for your allegiance or devotion? If so, how do you combat those areas of temptation with gospel truth?
