Ephesians 3:6-11

1. What comes to mind when you hear about church membership? Does your mind immediately go to healthy and constructive engagement in the church or does it turn elsewhere?

2. Looking at Ephesians 3:6-11, how can the church be the people through whom the manifold wisdom of God be made known? What would it look like for the church to display the wisdom of God?

3. What are the main reasons you’ve heard from others for not engaging deeply in the life of the church? What are the ways you’ve seen people faithfully engage deeply in the life of the church?

4. Looking at Hebrews 10:23-25, how can you stir up those in the church to love and good works?

5. Looking at Hebrews 10:23-25, what does it look like for you to meet together with the church and encourage the church? Are there ways that you would like to go further and deeper in this?

6. Based on Hebrews 10:23-25, we talked about knowing and being known, encouraging and being encouraged. Have you experienced this depth of relationship in the church? If so, share a bit about it. If not, what’s a practical way you can pursue knowing and being known more meaningfully?

7. Looking at Romans 12:9-13, which of these practices are most challenging for you? Which have you seen the most growth in throughout your Christian life?

8. Looking at Colossians 3:12-15, how can your community group support each other to pursue holiness? 

9. Looking at Hebrews 13:17, what does it look like for you to obey this passage practically right now? Are there challenges to obeying this passage right now? If so, what’s a step toward meeting those challenges?

10. Pastor Matt talked about the upcoming membership class for anyone interested in membership that happens on Sunday, September 28, after 2nd service. Do any of you plan to attend?

11. Pastor Matt talked about the upcoming inaugural Membership Matters Meeting that will happen on Sunday, October 26, after 2nd service. It will be a chance to meet as members of the church to hear testimonies, pray for one another, connect, and encourage each other. Do you have this on your calendar?
