1.) Obadiah was sent to rekindle the hope of the spiritually weak in Judah after the Babylonian conquest. How do you think God rekindles hope in us today when we feel spiritually defeated or distant from Him?
2.) The people of Judah struggled to pray in the midst of their despair. Have there been times in your life when you didn’t know what to pray? How did you experience God’s presence or guidance during that time?
3.) Obadiah makes clear that his message was from God, not from himself. How do we discern when God is speaking to us today through His Word, His Spirit, or others?
4.) Obadiah prophesied the destruction of Edom, showing that God always fulfills His promises. How does God’s faithfulness to His word give you confidence in your daily walk with Him, especially in challenging circumstances?
5.) The Edomites trusted in their physical security and pride, thinking they were invincible. What are some things people trust in today that give them a false sense of security, and how can we guard our hearts against similar deceptions?
