Exodus 14:21-31

  1. God’s Sovereign Power:
What do we learn about God’s sovereignty and control over creation from the parting of the Red Sea? How does this shape our trust in Him during times that feel impossible?

  2. Salvation by Grace Alone:
Israel did nothing to save themselves—God alone made a way through the waters. How does this event serve as a picture of salvation by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9)?

  3. Christ as the Greater Deliverer:
How does the deliverance through the Red Sea point forward to our deliverance in Christ (see 1 Corinthians 10:1–4)? In what ways is Jesus the greater Moses?

  4. Fear, Faith, and Obedience:
Verse 31 says the people “feared the Lord, and they believed.” What is the relationship between godly fear, faith, and obedience in the Christian life?

  5. Judgment and Salvation:
The same waters that saved Israel brought judgment on Egypt. What does this teach us about God’s justice and mercy being displayed together in redemption?

  6. Remembering God’s Deliverance:
How can we practically cultivate a habit of remembering God’s saving acts—both in Scripture and in our own lives—so that our faith is strengthened when we face new challenges?
