1. In Jude 1:5-7, Jude recalls three Old Testament examples of God’s judgment. Why do you think Jude chose these specific examples, and what do they teach us about the certainty and righteousness of God’s judgment?

2. Jude 1:8 describes false teachers as those who “reject authority.” How does rejecting authority reflect a deeper rebellion against God? What does joyful submission to God’s authority look like in our lives?

3. Jude warns in verse 8 about relying on dreams that lead to blasphemy and sin. How can we discern whether a spiritual claim, like a dream or prophecy, aligns with Scripture? Why is God’s Word, as revealed in the Bible, our ultimate authority?

4. In Jude 1:11, false teachers are compared to Cain, Balaam, and Korah. What can we learn from these three figures about the dangers of false teaching? How do their actions reflect the character of false teachers today?

5. Jude uses vivid imagery like; waterless clouds, fruitless trees, foam of the waves of the sea, and wandering stars to describe false teachers. How do these illustrations help us understand their emptiness and the harm they cause?

6. Jude’s warnings urge believers to examine teachings and teachers. How can we, as a church, faithfully “test everything” to ensure it aligns with God’s Word? How can we balance this with humility and unity?

7. Verse 12 warns that false teachers care for themselves rather than caring for others. Why is it important for the church to have godly, faithful teachers? How can we pray for and support those who are shepherding us in truth?

8. In light of Jude’s warnings about false teachers and God’s judgment, how should we respond as a church? What steps can we take to protect our community from false teaching while growing in our love for God’s truth?

9. Nate called us to pray for MBC in 3 ways; that we would be protected from false teachers, that he would strengthen our current godly teachers, and that we would gain more godly teachers... spend some time praying for these things!
