Exodus 7:8-13

1. Read Exodus 7:8 – 13.

2. Bob stated that Exodus is about the glory of God in the redemption of His people, which foreshadowed the redeeming work of Christ. 

• How does God receive glory in the redemption of His people?
• How does the redemption of God’s people in Exodus help us understand the redeeming work of Christ?

3. Snakes were revered by the Egyptians as powerful symbols of royalty and divinity. In our culture what symbols are revered as royal or divine?

4. Pharoah continually sought to reject what God clearly revealed to Him. In your interactions with unbelievers, how have they sought to reject what God has clearly revealed to them through His creation, His Son, and His Word?

5. Pharoah was morally culpable for his sin. Who or what does humanity blame for their sin in an effort to remove their moral culpability for it?

6. Read Hebrews 3:7 – 19. Why, according to Hebrews 3:13, were the Israelites heart’s hardened against the Lord?

7. Read Hebrews 4:14 – 16. How do we keep our hearts from hardening against the LORD?

8. In light of those passages from Hebrews: How does sin deceive us and Who is exhorting you, persistently, in order that you would not fall into the deceitfulness of sin?

9. What is the state of your heart?
