Titus 3:1-8

1. Titus 3:5 says that God saved us “not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy.” How does this truth shape our understanding of salvation, and why is it important to emphasize God’s mercy over our efforts?

2. What does it mean that the Holy Spirit has regenerated us and has been “poured out on us richly” (Titus 3:6)? How does this shape our dependence on the Spirit for salvation and in our pursuit of holiness?

3. Reflecting on who we once were (Titus 3:3) and how Christ saved us despite our sin, how should this deepen our love and gratitude toward God?

4. How does knowing that we are now heirs of eternal life (Titus 3:7) change the way we experience joy and security in Christ?

5. In what ways can we be “ready for every good work” (Titus 3:1) in our daily lives? What might it look like to live as sincere and devoted citizens while remaining faithful to Christ?

6. How can we maintain contact with the world without compromising holiness, and how can we ensure that our engagement is marked by compassion rather than self-righteousness?
