Exodus 4:10-17

  1. Read Exodus 4:10 – 17.
  1. When you hear the phrase “servant or slave of God,” what comes to the forefront of your mind?
  1. Why is being a servant or slave of God a wonderful privilege?
  1. A servant or slave of God is characterized by obedience to God. In what facet of your life are you struggling to obey God?
  1. Moses' fourth reservation concerning his role as the deliverer of God’s people from their enslavement in Egypt had to do with his lack of eloquence. Have you ever used a lack of eloquence as an excuse for not fulfilling a role God had called you to do? 
  1. When we employ the excuse “I am not eloquent” to avoid something God has called us to do, what are we saying falsely about God? 
  1. Describe a situation in which you spoke the truth in love to someone with an eloquence empowered by the Holy Spirit.
  1. God is a simple being, meaning He possesses all of His attributes simultaneously, fully, perfectly, eternally, infinitely, and immutably. Why is it important for believers to affirm the simplicity of God? 
  1. The LORD, in His providence (His orchestration of all things according to His good, pleasing, and perfect will), took action to assist Moses' inadequacy before Moses had even expressed His inadequacy to Him. Have you ever experienced this in your own life?
