Exodus 20:8-11

1. Read or recite Psalm 23 together.

2. Read Exodus 20:8 - 11.

3. Now that we have covered four of the 10 commandments, which one of them has stood out to you and why?

4. Which of the remaining six commandments are you eager to learn about? 

5. A question was asked at the beginning of the sermon, “What is the Sabbath day?” Eight responses were given to that question. Which of the 8 responses caught your attention?

6. Do you think that believers today should obey commandment #4 of the Decalogue? Why or why not?

7. Do believers have to practice a Sabbath on a particular day of the week? Why have believers historically practiced a Sabbath on Sunday, the Lord’s Day?

8. Why is it difficult for believers in our culture to practice a Sabbath once a week? Is there anything that specifically prevents you from taking a Sabbath weekly?

9. How does gathering with God’s people help us fix our mind’s attention, heart’s affection, and soul’s adoration on God as our Creator and Redeemer?

10. What does it mean that Jesus is our ultimate Sabbath rest, and how does that encourage you?
