Exodus 10:1-20
- Read Exodus 10:1–20.
- What do you find most alarming about the plague of locusts?
- One reason Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart and the hearts of Pharaoh’s servants was to provide God’s people the content of the message that they would pass on to future generations. What are some ways, individually, that the LORD has used you to pass on the Gospel to future generations?
- How does the passing on of the Gospel generations demonstrate the tremendous importance of intergenerational ministry in a local church setting? What are some ways that MBC could better foster intergenerational ministry?
- Pharaoh wanted the consequences of his sin dealt with, but had no desire to root sin out of his heart. We all have acted as Pharaoh did, which raises the question: why do we want the consequences of sin removed but not the sin that caused the consequences removed?
- Pride was defined as the preoccupation and exaltation of oneself, which is fueled by the fleshly desire to be made much of by others and to be viewed as superior to others. In essence, it is self-worship. Why is pride such a difficult sin for us to combat? Who can you think of from MBC who is humble and worthy of emulation?
- How has growing in your proper understanding of who God is made you a humbler individual?
- The motivation for being humble is the humility of Christ. Describe the many ways in which Christ displayed perfect humility during his time on earth.
- Pray for MBC to be as humble as Christ was.
