.) Pastor Matt said, "Christian humility is rightly directed glory." How does pride lead us to seek glory for ourselves, and what does it look like to redirect that glory to God? How can embracing true humility change the way we live for His glory instead of our own?
.) Salvation: Ephesians 2:1-9 teaches that we bring nothing to our salvation—it is entirely by God’s grace. How does this truth cultivate humility in our hearts, and why is it so easy to drift toward pride in our view of salvation?
.) Sanctification: Jesus said, “Apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). How does humility change the way we think about our own sanctification? In what ways do we sometimes try to take credit for our spiritual growth rather than recognizing it as the work of the Holy Spirit?
.) Good works: How does a right understanding of humility affect our view of good works? What are some ways we might be tempted to seek self-glory in our acts of service, and how can we redirect our focus toward glorifying God instead?
.) Relationships: Philippians 2:3-4 calls us to count others more significant than ourselves. How does humility change the way we treat our brothers and sisters in Christ? How does pride hinder our ability to serve and love others well?
.) Life as a whole: 1 Peter 5:7 calls us to cast all our anxieties on God because He cares for us. How does humility shape the way we approach all of life—our worries, our ambitions, and our daily decisions? In what ways does pride lead us to rely on ourselves instead of trusting in God’s faithfulness?
.) Pastor Matt said that the church is your true family. How should this truth shape the way we invest in and care for one another? What are some ways we can deepen our commitment to our church family in humility?
.) What does it look like for us to be a people marked by genuine godly humility for the glory of God?
