Exodus 16:13-21

  1. Read or recite James 1:2 – 4 together.
  1. Read Exodus 16:13 – 21.
  1. Throughout our time in Exodus, what has the LORD brought to your attention and used to grow you in your affection for Him?
  1. What stood out to you from Sunday’s sermon?
  1. Condition #2 of Yahweh’s test, found in verse 19, concerned what God’s people were to do with any leftover bread from heaven: Get rid of it! Why is it often a struggle for us to trust God and take Him at His Word?
  1. Who is a believer in your life that the LORD has used to model trust and obedience to Him and His Word and has exhorted you to trust and obey Him and His Word?
  1. To understand what happened in Exodus 16:16–18, we turned to 2nd Corinthians Ch. 8, where Paul cited Exodus 16:18. Why is it critical that we let Scripture interpret Scripture?
  1. From Paul’s usage and application of Exodus 16:18 in 2nd Corinthians 8, we realize that even though different amounts of manna were collected by individuals in the wilderness, they always met their quota of one Omer per a skull in a tent because those who collected more shared with those who collected less. Believers who have much are to joyfully, generously, sacrificially, and eagerly share with believers who have little.  How are you currently practicing this in your life?
  1. At the Missions Night and Dessert Dash, funds raised will support our brothers and sisters in Christ at the Gurage Bible School. Whether you are attending this event or not, will you, who have much, joyfully, generously, sacrificially, and eagerly share with our brothers and sisters in Christ at the Gurage Bible School who have little?
  1. Based on 2nd Corinthains 8: 8, 9 - How does the Gospel motivate followers of Christ, who have much, to joyfully, generously, sacrificially, and eagerly share with followers of Christ who have little?
  1. MBC family, what a wonderful opportunity that the LORD has presented us to be used by Him to bless brothers and sisters in Christ halfway around the world as they seek to be trained for godliness and then go and train others for godliness. May the Good News of Jesus Christ compel us to rise to the occasion for His glory and the advance of the Gospel!
