Luke 2:22-38
- The passage highlights Mary and Joseph’s obedience to the Law of Moses. How does their faithfulness point us to Jesus’ own perfect fulfillment of the law? Why is this significant for our salvation?
- Simeon describes Jesus as “a light for revelation to the Gentiles” (v. 32). How does this Old Testament prophecy being fulfilled in Jesus deepen our confidence in Christ?
- How does Anna’s response of thanksgiving and proclamation (v. 38) demonstrate a model for how believers today should respond to encountering Jesus?
- Simeon waited for the “consolation of Israel” with faith and devotion. How can we cultivate a similar attitude of trust and hope as we wait for Christ’s return?
- Anna devoted herself to worship through fasting and prayer (v. 37). How can we incorporate these practices into our own lives to grow in intimacy with God?
