Read Luke 1:26 - 38.

1. Sing a Christmas hymn together.

2. When you think of Mary, the mother of Jesus, what comes to mind?

3. Mary is not the dispenser of God’s grace; she was the recipient of God’s amazing grace, and she was amazed by it. What do you find amazing about God’s unmerited favor towards you?

• Recall a situation in which God poured out His unmerited favor on you.

4. The name Jesus makes clear the mission of Jesus: to save. According to Matthew 1:21, Jesus came to save His people from their sins.  When you ponder that reality, what stands out to you?

5. Pastor Nate mentioned reading Luke 2:1-20 before opening gifts to keep Christ central on Christmas Day. What are some of the ways that you have sought or will seek to keep the person and work of Christ dominant this Christmas season?

6. In verses 33 and 33, the angel Gabriel gave Mary a beautiful and varied description of Jesus. Which of those descriptions attracts your attention?

7. At the end of the sermon, there was an emphasis on knowing Christ as He is according to the Scriptures.

• How has knowing Christ brought hope, peace, and joy to your life? Think of a specific example.
