1 Peter 1:13-16
-
We started by talking about the call to be a holy people from 1 Peter 1:13-16 & Ephesians 5:1-12. What are the ways you can be distinct for the glory of God in your home, daily, and intentionally?
-
We then moved to talking about the call from January to have “contact without compromise” to describe our interactions with the world & looked at Matthew 5:14-16. What are examples from people in our church family who you’ve seen live distinctly & with conviction for the truth of the gospel?
-
Another exhortation from the Vision Sunday in January was to be a people who “contact with compassion”. How can encouragement from fellow believers play an important part in the Christian life?
-
Finally, Pastor Nate gave encouragement to our church to know God rightly & richly as well as for all of us to be active in participating in the life of the church. So in light of these encouragements, what are habits in your life that need to be removed in order that you may devote more time/attention to knowing God rightly & richly? What are habits need to be instilled into your life to help you know God more rightly & richly? How can you be more connected to the body of believers at MBC moving forward?
-
We ended with a final charge from 1 Thessalonians 4:1…holiness is not a pursuit in our own strength or for our own glory, it is for the power of the Spirit & for the glory of God. Why is it critical to remember that holiness is by the grace & power of God & for God’s glory? What happens when we fail to remember this?
