Exodus 6:1-13

  • How did the Lord use the time on Sunday with the church family (could be fellowship, music, preaching, etc) to build up your faith?
  • What do we learn about the character of God from v. 1-5?
  • In v. 9, the Israelites are in despair and don’t listen to Moses. How can we offer meaningful encouragement/hope to saints who are going through difficult times or moments of suffering?
  • God’s promise to “bring out”, “deliver”, “redeem”, and “take” points to God’s activity among the Israelites, even though the Egyptians currently enslave them. What does this passage teach us about God’s workings, even when there seems to be little activity from our perspective? How can this teaching encourage our faith right now?
  • Moses repeatedly questions his own ability or qualifications for leadership. What does it say about God and His plans and purposes that He continues to use Moses despite these doubts?
  • At the conclusion of the message, we talked about 3 truths to embrace in light of this passage: 1) God is in absolute control, 2) God keeps His promises, and 3) only God saves. How does embracing these truths shape your thinking about God, yourself, your circumstances, and how you hope to navigate the rest of the week?
