Ephesians 1:13-14

  1. Why did the apostle Paul shift from using the 3rd person plural pronouns, we and us, in verse 3 through 12 to the 2nd person plural pronoun, you, in verse 13?
  2. What is salvation? Why does one need salvation?
  3. How does one move from spiritually dead in sin to spiritually alive in Christ? 2:13
  4. What is the Gospel according to the Scriptures that sinners desperately need to physically and spiritually hear?
  5. True, genuine, saving belief in Christ involves 3 dimensions. What are those three dimensions and what do they mean?  Spend some time discussing the three elements of true, genuine, belief in Christ and their ramifications.
  6. What is the proof that one has trusted in Christ solely for eternal life with Him in His Kingdom? John 14:15, 21
  7. What does it mean that one has been sealed by the Holy Spirit? How does one know that they have been sealed by the Holy Spirit?  Galatians 5:19-24
  8. Have you ever considered the inheritance that we will receive from God in the future? What stands out to you about our future inheritance?
  9. MBC has now finished Paul’s benediction in Ephesians 1:3-14? Which of the following spiritual blessings mentioned in Paul’s benediction (election, adoption, redemption, forgiveness, illumination, predestination, salvation, and sealing) stood out the most to you and why?  Which of those spiritual blessings would you like to hear more about at MBC and why?  Which of those spiritual blessings makes you want to shout praise to God and why?

  11. Pray that, by the grace and power of God, those who are spiritually dead in sin would become spiritually alive in Christ.
