Matthew 7:7-11

 

1) A few weeks ago we were reading the Lord’s Prayer.

A) Has anything been different in your prayer habits?

 

2) Matthew 7:7 says that we should ask, seek, and knock in prayer. More Scriptures to consider are, Luke 11:5-13; Luke 18:1-8; Gen 32:22-2

A) What does it mean to ask, seek, and knock?

B) Do these three descriptions of prayer change your understanding of prayer? 

C) How could we be bolder and more persistent in prayer?

 

3) Jon said in his message that a prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian.

A) Why is prayer valuable?

B) What is the power in prayer?

 

4) Matthew 7:11, Jesus points out that those he is speaking to are evil. But despite our evil, our Father loves His children and gives good gifts.

A) Do you believe you are evil?

B) What changes when you believe you are evil?

C) Do you hide from God and avoid prayer when you sin?

D) Do you need to hide from God?

 

5) Take a few minutes to consider how you pray and how much you pray.

A) What is going well?

B) What needs to change?

C) How will you change it?

D) Why will you change it?
